mmm we went to a gourmet raw food restaurant last night.we started with hard cider (for the uninitiated, think apple juice, only with a buzz). then we had a fantastic spinach dip that was made with cashew milk, served with homemade raw seed crackers and lots of cut up veggies, the jicama moons were my fave.
I had the raw pizza--bacially a sprouted grain crust with homemade sundried tomato sauce, nut "cheese" basically a ground nut base that tasted kind of like ricotta, topped with eggplant, garlic, fresh tomato and portabella. ed had the raw lasagna, which was unbelievable--the "noodles" were made from thin zuccchini, some of the same sauce and nut cheeses that I had--layered thick. his was served with noodle shaped veggies like squash and zucchini, mixed with a spicy olive oil and braggs amino acids--it was yummy.
we split dessert--a serving of avocado banana "ice cream" (again nut milk based) with crushed nuts and fresh bananas on top on a base of "fudge" that was some kind of carob/agave sugar concoction.
