Default lifting?

So, we're not lifters or "gym rats" but we should be getting some kind of impact for bone density. So, what do you prefer? I'm thinking of starting some circuit training since lifting heavy is out of the question because I still have to pamper the shoulder. I could totally use the raised metabolism and power that lifting brings though.
