Oh she is definitely steel. Columbus Genius tubing to be exact. Top of the line in her day.
I wish she was full Record. The guy who sold it to me had 8 speed record on it....but I didn't like the feel of the hoods at all. And he wanted too much with the Campy bits on it. So i opted to purchase just the frame and bastardize it with all my Shimano bits. A mix of Dura Ace and Ultegra. They guy who sold it........he calls me a douche because of said bastardization.
I have another guy who wants to unload an more recent Record group for 1,200, but I just can't get that much scratch for my group. So I can't make it happen.
This bike would be perfect if I could dress with Record or Chorus....but I can't afford it.
I do love this bike. The rumor is all the pin stripping is paint. NOT STICKERS!!!!
The chrome lugs are beautiful. I wish the BB lug and the seat tube/top tube lug were chrome too...but I'm not really complaining.
