sia - regarding prediabetes, my take at a similar stage was that I was diabetic. You may want to read Dr. Bernstein's book, Diabetes Solution (don't pay list for any version earlier than 2007). If you are "pre' getting good blood pressure control is important according to recent studies. Have you considered metering your blood glucose, BGs? Spending much time above 120 probably and above 140 is damaging to your body. My doctor did not want me to meter, but I starting tracking some dangerously high readings and changed my diet, and eventially went on medications.
