But..... you just said you loved MJ. I do too, but talk about a guy who gets a MASSIVE free pass from the media. Philanderer, bettor, biggest divorce settlement in history and its virtually not covered. Kobe should have had his PR firm. So how come Jordan gets a pass for everything he does from you, but TB doesn't?
I'll be completely honest: I really didn't know that stuff about MJ. Part of it might be that I stopped watching the NBA shortly after he retired... but I never knew all of that stuff. I just saw him on the court. I don't know what else to say about that. I knew he got a divorce at some point, but that's it. Anyway, that's disappointing to hear if he was a cheat.

I don't have a list of proof, but I'll say that Tom Brady has gotten the benefit of more questionable calls than anyone in pro football since 2000. This is a completely subjective statement, I know. But I'm not alone in thinking this, so I'm not completely loco. My friends in NY made up something called the "Brady Rule", in which a flag MUST be thrown whenever Brady is sacked in the 4th quarter. I know, still no specific "facts", but it adds to the dislike.

The media attention adds to it, for sure. Look at it this way: the guy gets ALL the calls his way, has a GREAT defense, a GREAT coach, and then his teams BARELY pulls off a series of big games by 3-7 points... Now, imagine if the calls were square? That's not much of a margin! Sure, this year is mostly different, no doubt... but it was again obvious in the Baltimore game. After all of that, he gets praised as if he's some kind of god. It really detracts from the game to give credit where credit is only partially due.

Living in Boston, I hear it NON STOP. It fuels my fire.

Have you ever seen a kid play basketball on one of those small, 3-foot hoops? The dad stands there and says "Shoot the ball! Shoot it towards the goal!" And the kid shoots. If it's within a few feet of the goal, the dad will grab it and guide it into the basket. I honestly feel like the NFL/refs are Tom Brady's father. They REALLY want him to succeed, and find ways to insure it.

Call me paranoid, a conspiracy theorst, or whatever you'd like. But wherever there's money to be had - and pro sports brings in hundreds of millions - there will be cheating. Just look at Barry Bonds and the NBA referee. It's there... most of it just hasn't been uncovered. If the media hypes him up on top of it, then his success will be less conspicuous.

All that said, Brady is a damn good QB. And I doubt he is aware of any favoritism. But he's not the greatest QB I've seen, in the history of the game, or even in the NFL right now.
