I did Making the Cut in December. I've just started NROL4W. Not much basis for comparison, but here are my thoughts (FWIW):

The programs have quite a bit in common -- with compound exercises that work more than one muscle group and that work them in a functional way. You don't get the MTC circuit-training cardio benefit as much from NROL4W (but that's also not the focus, as you'll see when you read the book). My guess is that you will find yourself building stronger muscle with NROL4W, and getting in better cardio shape with MTC. After the average MTC workout, I was wasted. Michaels' suggestion that you do cardio after that workout? Ha! In. Your. Dreams. After the first NROL4W workouts, my muscles were tired, but I didn't feel like I was about to die. Not in the same way.

BUT... don't be fooled by how comparatively easy the NROL4W workouts look. After MTC, I was really cocky walking into the gym for the first NROL4W workout, thinking "Piece. Of. Cake." And all I can say after the first two workouts is Holy DOMS, Batman!!! I seriously thought I was in really good shape. I didn't know I could still hurt this much.

I don't know what to recommend you -- I know that I took off 14 lbs and a whole lot of inches in 30 days on MTC. And that's being in good shape but having probably about 20 lbs I didn't need. I can see myself going back and forth between the two programs -- I'm loving circuit training and I get bored with long drawn-out cardio stuff, so both of these programs are really great for my personality.

Nutrition-wise, I think it's a tossup.
