Lateral elbow pain commonly points to tennis elbow or some kind of -itis in your extensor tendons as this is where they all originate. Does any wrist motions provoke the pain, ie. wrist flexion/extension? It also could be a bursitis as you have several bursa that lube the elbow during movements. It could be an inflammation of one of them... Try some anti-inflammatories and keep applying the ice.
