Default Hip flexor is bugging me

A few weeks ago I was squatting and in the low position when I began to push back up I felt something odd in my left front hip. I guess that's the hip flexor.

It wasn't painful. More like someone just poked me with their finger there.

Later in the workout I did walking lunges with torso rotation and when I would lunge with the right leg, I could feel the same mild irritation in the left hip as the left leg was extended behind me.

After the workout I could feel my hip flexor sort of irritated, but again not something I'd call painful.

It's been that way but hasn't really gotten any worse since.

Oddly squatting since then doesn't bother me. Only the lunge seems to make me feel the irritation.

I'd really like it to go away because I am worried about doing damage that might cause me to have to stop lifting for a long period of time.

What can I do to rehab this hip flexor irritation?
