Spicy Tomato Cheese Chips
I had to try this recipe just because I never thought it would work (got it off my dehydrator's website). I don't know if dehydrating cottage cheese changes or removes anything, but this is the best cottage cheese has ever tasted. I am now trying to tweak the recipe for different types of chips.
1 12-ounce carton cottage cheese with chives
1 medium ripe tomato, quartered
1 tablespoon onion, chopped
Dash cayenne pepper (or more)
Dash garlic powder
In a blender or food processor, blend cottage cheese, tomato, onion and spices into a smooth liquid.
Pour 1teaspoon circles onto solid fruit roll sheets and flatter down, but make sure you can not see through them!
Place sheets on dehydrator trays and dry at 145º F. for 4 to 6 hours, or until sides curl up like potato chips.
You may have to turn them over to dry the bottoms. They will be crispy.
