I'm currently doing H-II as well. Another thing to consider with snatch grip DL's is the realization that it will put more strain on your grip than a normal or mixed grip. Therefore you need to compensate accordingly with your weight.
I've never used straps, but it seems logical to me that they would discount the work that your grip gets without the straps. Therefore, your grip strength will not improve as much as it could have without straps. Does this make sense?
