I bought a snazzy new grinder attachment for my Kitchenaid stand mixer today. I thought I'd try to make nut butter with it (I wanted to grind chicken but I had none)...I had visions of lovely creamy goo streaming out at all speed...WRONG
The nuts jammed the grinder and made a sort of a paste that got stuck in the pipe. It was not easy to clean or extract.
On a mission and not to be stopped until I had almond butter, I decided to try my high-speed blender (It will crush ice and it's a mean machine). I put in only about 4 oz of almonds, and got dust. I added about 2-3 tbsp of oil to no avail. It also didn't look the same colour (not that lovely tan colour, more of a whitish pasty thing) as store-bought nut butter. I don't know what to do with this substance. It's not at all what I was hoping for. It is more like marzipan.
WTF do I need in order to make this properly? A food processor? A genie?
