BTW, what was the nature of your "VMO injury" and how did you hurt it?....I don't think I've ever run across a true "VMO injury". I have seen it shut down in cases of poor lumbopelvic and/or pelvic-femoral alignment.

I hurt it by doing squats or leg pressing one day. It swelled up but I didn't feel any pain right away, ( I thought it was just a good pump) it hurt a couple of days later. The doc will check it out closer as soon as we figure what happened to my lower back. But I think you are right, it has something to do with the med glute and pirioformis since it's the area that I'm told to stretch daily.
Also can you elaborate a little as to how the VMO "shuts down"?
Thank You.
