To most people, getting toned means losing weight irregardless of whether it comes from muscle loss or fat loss. As long as the scale goes down, toning is achieved. It's amazing that many personal trainers have been bashed and badmouthed by ladies who say their weight has not gone down after engaging their services even though the mirror indicates good progress.

Interestingly, this may be a backlash of the obesity crisis here in America. People have become convinced that weight loss is fat loss because fat dudes lose mainly fats when they follow an exercise and diet plan to lose weight. If the body comp improvements is dramatic, uneducated minds also take it to mean that fats become muscles rather than the simultaneous effect of bodyfat being lost and muscles being built.

Wow. That is a huge, huge statement. You are SOOOO right.
