Yeah, when we first started working on it I thought he'd do his own exercises as well. The last time I saw him, at Staley's boot camp last October, he was in fantastic shape, bigger and leaner than he was at JP's two years ago.

Now, I don't mean to speak for Chad (I'm sure he'd be happy to answer the question himself), but I think he made a good choice.

It's risky for coaches to present themselves as both the originator and product of their own workouts. It sends a different message -- "Do what I recommend because it works for me," vs. "Do what I recommend because it's worked for thousands of guys."

I've never been in his position, since I don't design workouts, but I've been around a lot of people in his position when I've worked with them on books and articles. And I have to say that things work better when the expert is the expert and the model is the model. It seems to send the best message to readers.
