I got the job! I'll be starting March 5th. They really wanted the NASM PT certification, so I'm going to start there. I've ordered the materials and have also signed up to get my CPR/AED certification next week. I would still like to get the NSCA CSCS, I think it could lead to expanded career opportunities, but for know I'll jump right into the NASM.
The interview actually went very smoothly and I'm looking forward to starting. The gym itself is perfect for me, a local chain (6 locations, so not too corporate), and the one I'll be working at is less than 5 minutes from my house. My hope is that it will be great place to get some experience under my belt.
