Therein lies my problem... at least one of them. Now that my back is feeling better, I'm back in the weight room more and swimming less. I want to get better at swimming but I also don't want to give up the other stuff. The tradeoff is to sacrifice other things to be better at one... and I'd bet that is how most of the better athletes got to where they are, by focusing on the one thing they wanted to do most.
I really like Terry's perspective on swimming, however, and I practive mindful swimming more than anything when I'm in the pool. It makes the whole experience more enjoyable and, hopefully, improves my technique... albeit slooooowly.
