Wisconsin - that looks like a tough course. Actually, I prefer some hills (being only 5'8" and a race weight of only 62kg (132lb) hills tend to swing the balance in my favour - 132lb doesn't afford you a lot of brute strength I'm afraid!

IronmanWA is dead flat, meaning you're churning the pedals the whole 180km! Coincidentally, on the weekend just gone I read the book Swim, Bike, Run, Laugh by Dan Madson that chronicles his trainig up to his first Ironman - in Wisconsin.

Glad I don't have an Ironman coming up soon though - a 10 month-sort-of-sabatical has stuffed me around, finding 50mi rides and 10mi runs are wiping me out. After Ironman WA again would like to do Ironman Oz and NZ, and hopefully one of the IM North America ones, and perhaps one in Europe. I remember telling my partner that I needed to get this Ironman thing 'out of my system', but she knows the real me, and knew I would be hooked.

Hope to hear more about your training through the year. Happy to trade tales from the trenches.

Cheers,
Kev
