Upper/Lower Imbalance

I asked this over on T-Nation, but you didn't get a chance to answer it yet. I thought this might be a better place to ask.
Just finished your new book. I liked it because there we a lot of practical stuff I can use right away.
I currently have a size imbalance. My upper body is too small in proportion to my lower body.
Any more lower body hypertrophy is undesireable right now, but I still want strenght gains. How can I tweak your programs to suit my needs? Will cutting lower body volume in half do the trick?
