I think foot placement rather than bar placemenet would determine if one would be doing typical OL or powerlifting squats. An OL squat tends to have the bar higher up on the traps with a narrow to medium width stance. A PL squat tends to have the bar lower on the shoulders AND a wider stance to really get the glutes,hammies and lowerback into the movement. There are also variations of each type of squat also.

hmm I guess I go just about below parallel, almost touching but not quite touching my calves. With a shoulder width stance
