I had a fantastic group swim in Lake Catamount last night. The local paper came out and interviewed a bunch of us, took some photos, and are going to do an article on the tri club. I swam 4 triangles, about 50 minutes open water. My buddy Bill just got back from Ironman Coeur d'Alene so we chatted about his race for a while. Saw some pics too - it was awesome! He's going to be a great resource for my nutrition, etc. He told me about a place in town to pick up some Hammer Nutrition stuff, which is great! One of the only products that agree with me, and usually you have to order online.
I had a really rough run today. Supposed to be 90 minutes, but for some reason or another, it was a problem. My right knee and left foot were hurting, and I got a really sharp cramp in my right side at about 70 minutes. So I hobbled back home in 82 minutes - just under 10 miles. Not a bad run time or distance wise, but my body wasn't up to it today. I jumped on the bike right after and spun out my legs for about 32 minutes. It helped a bit.
Now, I know my nutrition was up to snuff, 2 cups of oats, berries, and banana for brekkie, a HEED drink before, water and a gel during. So it shouldn't have been an issue. I don't know, maybe just an off day. We shall see.
Off to work. See ya!
