The university where I work is adding on to our Student Rec Bldg and the plans show an indoor climbing wall. I'm really excited about this even though it will be a couple of years before it's open.

I've never done this (yet) but, from what I've read, you basically climb with your legs although good upper body strength is required, too. I'm sure a leaner person would have a great advantage over someone hauling extra weight.

For those of you who have done this, I'd love to hear what you find helps you, in terms of training, so I can prepare myself for this when it's ready. Since we moved, the Rec Center is only a couple of blocks away. I use it a lot now and plan to use it more when the addition is finished!
