I agree that I think it's a matter of focus. Most trainers who obtain a CPT do so to begin work as a personal trainer and maybe they just aren't interested in writing articles. The motivation to get a CSCS comes on many levels, including the desire to make a living in this industry. And getting published is a big part of getting your name out there and succeeding.

I have a personal training certification and a CSCS certification, but I still don't write articles, lol. Just haven't had that desire.
