I would like to do a Sprint length, but I do not think that even the money for reg fees will be available with me going back to school.
Sacrifices eh?
I figure to do a sprint I would def want the tri-shorts AT LEAST. Currently I think I could do a Sprint level with my current conditioning. I honestly feel our bike course was 18km, not 16km. So tack 2 more K on there and we are at 20. The run? Yeah I coulda done another 2km at the pace I set for the majority of the race. So that would put my time to maybe a half hour on the 5km run. Swim I am unsure of. I suspect I could have maintained pretty close to my speed. I am still quite surprised by the swim time.
Other Misc thoughts. On the second length I thought to myself that it was weird how different this pool felt compared to my regular pool.
There is a Sprint length at the end of June, an open water swim, couple of laps around a smallish lake in one of the neighborhoods. It is tempting, but I doubt I can afford it, well ok I can't get race fees and short money together as extra income in a month hahhahah what a joke!
Doing a bit more research on the previous events, I believe previous to this year they had a truer 4km loop and it looks like it was only 3 loops and not 4. This means my Bike time might not be nearly as bad as I think, I will have to wait for the official results to go up so I can tell where I placed out in the pack.
Either way now that I am rested it is pretty much dominating my thoughts and I will in the future do another one. I suspect this one again next year at the very least and in the future when I am better employed I would hope to get up to at least an olympic type level.
Og.
