How ironic since I posted this earlier! I was wondering if that comment might not come up but, you know, even though humans may differ from other animals (I can't go so far as to say "humans are not animals" ), our characteristics do overlap to a point. The analogy came to mind of the canary in the mineshaft. There's obviously some overlap there that applies to the animal as well as the human. Still, I know what you are saying about being careful of the conclusions that you draw from animal studies.
