Thanks Bill. Are you doing the intermediate program? Per Lou, King has built in a ramp up period in each of his programs, so weeks 1-3 are spent builiding up smaller supporting muscles and tendons. A little less in weeks 4-6 and then you finally go big in week 7. I'd give it some more time.
I never did the beginner workout, so I can't comment on that. The intermediate is OK. I'm following King's general guidelines about only lifting to failure in the third week of a micro-phase. So far, the only things that have really done me in are the exercises hitting muscle groups where I am not as strong (e.g. calves, shoulders). But I am a veteran of about 4 different King programs so I kind of understand where he is leading me.
The tempo is really what makes it hard. Stick to strict tempo, in seconds, and you will find it challenging enough even with light weights. Check out my comments below on my bench pressing today. You definitely have to check your ego at the door when you do King, but the results are well worth it - I got my arms from working around the so-called 'girl end' of the DB rack while doing his Great Guns program.
How'd you find TT? Capp really seems to like it. I did an abbreviated version that was in MF and liked it, but I really wanted something that was planned out for 6 months and aI already had TBOM. I may buy it from Craig if I need to cut a little in late spring.
