Hello all,
I am just starting to lift. I am looking for increase in muscle to help with insulin resistance. I am a insulin dependent type 2 diabetic in resonable health ( 54 ). I hike in the mountains and have good wind and leg power.
My recent workouts have been visited by mild hypos after about an hour. I usually stop, check blood sugar and eat a few carbs and finish the last 45 minutes. About two hours later the hypos start in again and I eat more carbs and check bs. Morning readings are starting to climb 30 t0 40 points high. I am on a sliding scale for insulin (poorman's pump) which means fast acting insulin for meals (bolus) and slow acting insulin for background insulin (basil). Are there any experianced diabetics around for info. Thanks in advance.
Al.
