I've looked into it, but since VoIP does not yet support 911 services, I'd still have to have a landline. So, at this point in time, it's just not worth it. The reason being is that 911 services cannot locate your home via VoIP if you just can't get it out as to where you are. In my neck of the woods (and I MEAN WOODS), I'd even be concerned that even with my GSM cell phone that our 911 operator wouldn't be able to find me without a landline.
